About Our Work

The Manna Food Project strives for a food secure Northern Michigan with the help of our food network partners, community supporters, and sponsors like you.

In 2024, Manna distributed 1.5 million pounds of food ― the equivalent of 1.25 million meals ― to neighbors facing food insecurity. Through the year, we helped over 41,000 families receive groceries they wouldn’t have been able to afford otherwise. Additionally, more than 27,000 meals were served each month through our partner meal programs.

Our food bank network has experienced a 23% increase in people served two years in a row. Between 2022-2023, our own food pantry saw a 57% increase in people seeking food assistance. By the end of 2024, our food pantry saw another 35% increase in people served, including an average of 10 new households each week.

Throughout Northern Michigan, Manna and our network of more than 40 distribution partners work tirelessly to make sure no child goes to bed hungry, no senior skips meals to afford their medication, and no hard-working family has to sacrifice nutrition because the cost of living is outpacing wages.

We believe that food is a human right. Together with you, we can ensure that everyone has access to the nourishment they need to thrive.

Manna’s 2025 goals include:

  • Expand on new programming, such as home delivery, homeless food bags, and emergency care kits.
  • Continue to improve current programs based on guests’ needs and feedback.
  • Increase access to food by assessing barriers such as transportation and food deserts.

Bay Harbor Yacht Club

Our second annual gala event is back in Bay Harbor. This upscale evening includes cocktail hour, dinner & drinks, live auction, and games. Enjoy sweeping views of Little Traverse Bay with live music from the Owen James Trio. This event raises vital funds for the Food 4 Kids program, which provides young children with meals, snacks, and the fuel they need to thrive.

Golf Fore Manna
September 3 & 4, 2025
The Highlands of Harbor Springs

The 2025 Golf Fore Manna event is coming back bigger and better. This two-day event will allow for more golf teams and even more people to attend the dinner and program. Sponsors will be able to choose their shotgun start time for teams of four; teams include access to the events on September 3 & 4.
